Vice Admiral A M M M Aurangzeb Chowdhury, NBP, OSP, BCGM, BCGMS, ndc, psc is the Chairman of Chittagong Dry Dock Ltd. He was born on 28 September 1959. He Joined in Bangladesh Navy in 1978. Vice Admiral Aurangzeb attended various courses at home & abroad. He has done cadet training & basic course in Germany, Surface Warfare Officer Course in USA, Instructional Technique Course at Chittagong Teacher’s Training College, Gunnery Specialization Course in India, Missile Weapon System Course in China, Naval Staff Course in Germany, C++ Programming with Operating System at AUST in Dhaka, Training on Combat System in the Netherlands, Ship Building Technology Course in South Korea, BA & MDS (Masters in Defence Studies) from National University, MBA from Bangladesh Open University & M Phil from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). Presently pursuing his PhD under Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). Vice Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury has successfully completed NDC from National Defence College, Mirpur, Dhaka in 2010 and Capstone Course from the same institute in 2012. He is proficient in German and learned French Language also.
During his long naval career Vice Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury successfully served in various ships & establishments in various capacities including Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations), Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel), Commander Chattogram Naval Area, Commodore Superintendent Dockyard, Naval Secretary & Directors at NHQ, Commanding Officer of Frigate & different Ships, Commandant of Marine Academy, Zonal Commander of Coast Guard East Zone & Principal of Marine Fisheries Academy, Chattogram etc.
Vice Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury is happily married with Dr. Afroza Aurangzeb, who is a Gynecologist & blessed with one son & one daughter
Commodore Mohammad Nazmul Karim Kislu, (C), NGP, ndc, psc, BN Commodore Mohammad Nazmul Karim Kislu took over the duties of ‘Managing Director’ Chittagong Dry Dock Limited on 26 April 2016. Prior joining his present billet he was serving as Director of Naval Training (DNT) in Naval Headquarters. A graduate from Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) and National Defence College (NDC), he was commissioned in Executive Branch of Bangladesh Navy (BN) on 01 January 1987. He obtained his masters in Strategy and Development Studies (MSDS) from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
During his long service career, Cdre Kislu underwent various professional courses at home and abroad. As a young Lieutenant he did ‘Officers Physical Training’ (OPT) course from Army School of Physical Training and Sport (ASPTS) and ‘Missile Command and Tactics Course’ from Fast Attack Craft School and Centre. He did ‘Surface Warfare Officers Course’ form USA, ‘Communication Specialization Course’ from Pakistan and ‘Principal Warfare Officers Course’ from United Kingdom.
Beside traditional naval courses Cdre Kislu attended numerous short courses and seminars like Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) Course in Singapore, Humanitarian Protection and Assistance Course under International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), International Military Operations and Law Conference in Canada, etc. He also did ‘Senior Staff Course’ from Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC).
Cdre Kislu commanded almost all types of warships which include Fast Attack Craft (Missile), Patrol Craft, Offshore Patrol Vessel, Corvette and three Frigates of BN. He was the ‘Project Officer’ for acquisition of USCGC JERVIS from USA and the first Commanding Officer of BNS SOMURDA JOY and navigated the ship from USA to Bangladesh. As a navy Captain he has sailed across both Atlantic and Pacific Ocean with BN ships.
Cdre Kislu was an instructor in Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA) and School of Maritime Warfare & Tactics (SMWT). He was the ‘Officer in Charge’ of Signal School and FAC School and Centre. He successfully commanded the largest Naval Base of Bangladesh Navy BNS ISSA KHAN. He did Dignitary Protection Course (DPC) in Bangladesh as well as VIP Protection Course form Thailand and served as a Director Special Security Force (SSF).
Cdre Kislu served for the greater cause of international peace and humanity under United Nations as a ‘Military Observer’ in Congo (MONUC) and as a ‘Contingent Member’ on board BNS OSMAN in Lebanon (UNIFIL). He also served as an instructor in Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) for training the Bangladeshi Peace keepers.
During his diversified service career Cdre Kislu visited number of countries which include USA, Canada, UK, Switzerland, Turkey, Cyprus, OMAN, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon, Congo, Kenya, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and China etc.
Cdre Kislu received ‘Chief of Naval Staff Commendation’ for becoming ‘Honour Graduate’ and obtaining distinction marks in Surface Officers Course in USA. He was also honoured with ‘Now Gowrav Padak’ (NGP) for his extra ordinary contribution in ‘International Relief Operation’ soon after typhoon ‘Hyan’ hit Philippines in 2013. He is happily married and blessed with a son and a daughter.
Captain Atiqur Rahman, (G), afwc, psc, BN Captain Atiqur Rahman is the first General Manager Administration of Chittagong Dry Dock after Bangladesh Navy takes over the responsibility of management of the yard. Prior assuming duties, he completed M Phil Part-I on Strategy and Development Studies and studied Masters in Business Administration.
Captain Atiqur Rahman joined Bangladesh Navy in the Executive Branch on 01 July 1989. During long 27 years of career, he has completed various courses at home and abroad. On security, he has undergone courses on Counter Sabotage from NSI and VVIP Protection from SSF, Bangladesh. On management, the officer attended International Defense Management course conducted by DRMI, Monterey, USA (held at BIPSOT), Port Management Course from Chittagong Port Authority and Comprehensive Crisis Management Course from Asia Pacific Centre for Strategic Studies (APCSS), Hawaii, USA. On military profession, he is a Gunnery specialist officer. Beside basic courses, he has completed Command and Tactics Course from Dalian Naval Academy, China, Staff Course from Defense Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Mirpur and Naval Staff Course from US Naval War College, Rhode Island, USA. In academic degree, besides M Phil and MBA, Capt Atiq has obtained Masters in Defense Studies (MDS) from National University of Bangladesh.
Captain Atiq has a diversified working experience both in military and civil sector. He commanded number of ships of BN and credited a long sea service career. He has served in various staff appointments in Bangladesh Navy and Coast Guard. He served in Special Security Force as Deputy Director. Other appointment includes Training Commander of Bangladesh Naval Academy and School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics and Chief Staff Officer to Commodore Commanding Khulna. Captain Atiq served United Nations as Military Observer in Liberia.
During long service career the officer widely travelled in USA, China and West Africa. Some other travelled countries includes India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Qatar, UAE, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia etc.
The captain is fond of reading and research works. He has number of articles published in various international and national journals to his credit. Captain Atiq is a sportsman and loves playing golf and traveling.
In personal life, Commander Atiq is happily married to Mrs Dilruba Sharmin and blessed with a lovely daughter and a son.
At present, Captain Atiqur Rahman is serving as the General Manager (Admin) at Chittagong Dry Dock Ltd and putting all out effort to contribute in reforming CDDL an efficient business organization in global environment. Captain Mohammad Abdul Latif, (L), psc, BN joined Bangladesh Navy on 01 January, 1991 and was commissioned in the Electrical Branch on 01 July, 1993. He has completed his graduation in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) with first class. Captain Latif has done Missile Officers Course in BNS ISSA KHAN. He has done his Specialization both at home and abroad (Pakistan). He has done his Staff Course both at home (Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur) and abroad (Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College). He has done Diploma in Strategic Studies from University of Malay with “Distinction” marks. He has also obtained Masters in Defence Studies (MDS) under Open University, Bangladesh. He did Dignitary Protection Course (DPC) in Bangladesh as well as VIP Protection Course form Thailand with “Excellent Performance” award. During his service carrier Captain Latif has served onboard various types and size of old and modern ships of BN including BNS BANGABANDHU as Electrical Officer. He has served Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA) as instructor. He has served Special Security Force (SSF) as Deputy Director. He has also working experience in BN Dockyard as DMP (W&E). He has worked as the Project Weapon Electrical Officer in a Project Team to supervise two new building warships (guided missile corvettes) in Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd, Wuhan, China. Captain Latif visited number of countries which include Italy, UK, Scotland, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, China, etc. He is happily married and blessed with a son and a daughter. At present, Captain Latif is serving as the General Manager (Production and Maintenance) at Chittagong Dry Dock Ltd.
